IELTS Prep is a free practice app for the IELTS exam. Your practice data
stays on your phone. There is no account, no login, and no server that we
run. We cannot see your answers, your scores, or your recordings.
The one exception is advertising. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and
Google collects data in order to serve them. That is described in detail
below.
- WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
The app stores the following in a private database on your phone. It is not
uploaded anywhere, and it is not readable by other apps.
- Practice attempts: which passage, section or task you did, your raw
score, your estimated band, and when you started and finished.
- Your answers to practice questions.
- Unfinished writing drafts, so you can resume a task you left.
- Vocabulary progress, used to schedule word reviews.
- Your daily practice streak.
- App settings, such as your light or dark theme choice.
- A count of how many times the app has been opened, and whether you have
already been asked to rate the app. This is used only to avoid asking
you more than once.
This data is removed when you uninstall the app. You can also erase it at
any time from within the app: Settings, then "Delete all" under Your data.
- MICROPHONE AND SPEAKING RECORDINGS
The Speaking module records your voice so you can play your answer back and
assess it yourself.
- Recordings are saved to temporary storage on your device only.
- They are deleted automatically when you leave the Speaking screen.
- They are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never sent to any third
party.
- There is no speech recognition and no AI scoring in this app. Nothing
listens to or analyses your recording.
The app asks for microphone permission the first time you record. If you
decline, every other part of the app continues to work.
