Neplify ("Neplify", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Neplify mobile app and the neplify.app website (together, the "Service"), a free community noticeboard for the Nepali community and their neighbours. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Neplify has no user accounts and no login. You do not give us a name, email address, or password to browse or to post. What we receive is:
We do not collect your GPS or precise location, we have no accounts to breach, and we do not build an advertising profile of you. The app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. The neplify.app website carries no ads.
Neplify is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.
Neplify is the data controller for the information described in this Policy. You can contact us at any time at [email protected].
Neplify is available in New Zealand, Australia, Nepal, Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Canada.
a) Anonymous device identifier The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. It is not derived from your device's hardware, it is not linked to your name, and there is no account behind it. We use it so that you can delete your own posts, so that blocks and reports work, and to enforce our rules against people who break them.
The author label attached to a post publicly is not this identifier. It is a one-way, irreversible code derived from it, so nobody reading the board can work backwards to your device or forge a post as you.
That code is also different on each part of the Service. The label on an Unsaid note and the label on a classified listing from the same device do not match and cannot be matched to one another. This is deliberate: it means an anonymous note about how you are feeling cannot be connected to a listing of yours that carries your phone number.
If you uninstall the app, this identifier is lost, and with it the ability to delete posts you made before uninstalling.
b) Notices and comments When you publish a notice we receive what you typed: title, description, category, the city or area you selected, an optional price, an optional event date and venue, up to three images, and any contact detail you choose to add (for example a phone number, email address, or WhatsApp or Facebook link). Comments consist of the text you write.
Everything in a notice or comment is public. Add a contact detail only if you are willing for anyone to see it.
